Overview

Release uses the IAM STS permissions role and tokens to provision and control resources in your account. There are cases where STS permissions may not function properly (by design or inadvertently) with particular settings. By default, STS permissions are enabled and allowed, but there may be occasions where this is not the case. Read on for possible STS problems with Release and their fixes.

STS is disabled in a Region

Most AWS Regions are enabled for operations in all AWS services by default. Those Regions are automatically activated for use with AWS STS. Some Regions, such as Asia Pacific (Hong Kong), must be manually enabled.

STS may be disabled for compliance or security reasons. To re-enable STS, follow the instructions in .
